The guidance note aims to provide UN humanitarian coordinators with a practical tool to integrate human rights into humanitarian action. It points out the convergence between human rights principles and humanitarian actions. It guides humanitarian coordinators to avoid misperceptions of the human rights approach in humanitarian programming, build human rights partnerships, mainstream the human rights approach in humanitarian programme management and advocate for human rights. The guidance note also includes a brief description of the UN system on human rights.
