HREA’s Webinar | Every Right for Every Child

November 20th is World Children’s Day. The special day marks the anniversary of the date that the UN General Assembly adopted both the Declaration of the Rights of the Child (1959) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989). We had a webinar on Friday, November 19th, at 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. EST to discuss, advocate, and promote “Every Right for Every Child”. Check out the recording here on HREA’s YouTube channel.

Featured Speakers – Child Rights Experts:

  • Mr. Peter Dixon, independent consultant and trainer on child rights. Since 2014, he has been Project Consultant for a Child To Child / OAK Foundation collaboration, supporting 60 OAK Partners working in the field of Child Abuse in Eastern Europe and East Africa. Most recently, he has been working with Kindernothilfe to support its partners to establish disability inclusive safeguarding.
  • Dr. Francis Adaikalam, Assistant Professor at Department of Social Work, Loyola College, Chennai, India; Member of Child Welfare Committee, Chennai Central, Govt. of Tamil Nadu. He was involved in several International and National evaluation studies and policy based research concerning children, supported by Govt. of Tamil Nadu, European Union, IDRC, Canada and UNICEF, Tamil Nadu

Special Guest – Child Leader & Activist:

  • Boomika Devi Jeeramani (12 years old), Founder and Director of Children 2030 Foundation, Founder of Voice of Mother Earth News Channel, and Ambassador of Kids for Peace. She will address this webinar in a child-led opening dialogue, sharing her unique insights in human rights, with a focus on children’s right to education, health and sustainable environment.
