This self-paced, e-learning course comprises three modules that will help companies develop an understanding of human rights and integrate the Global Compact principles into everyday business. “Module 1: Introduction to Human Rights” provides an overview of key components of internationally accepted human rights standards and principles and discusses how to understanding and analyze human rights issues and situations encountered in the work of companies. “Module 2: Sphere of Influence” explores a key concept included in the Global Compact principles: the sphere of influence. “Module 3: Complicity” focuses on the important area of complicity in human rights abuses. Broadly speaking, corporate complicity in the idea that a company is contributing in some way to the human rights abuses committed by another, whether that other is a government, a rebel group, another company, or an individual. Corporate complicity is distinct from the situation in which a company is itself engaging in human rights abuse.
