This research paper reviewed the adoption and implementation of international human rights instruments related to the rights of migrants by region and state from 1997 to 2004. Using the information in the Treaty Bodies Database of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the research team presented findings on the implementation of six human rights treaties to address migrant related issues, the compliance of member states, concerns by the treaty monitoring bodies, and the gaps in states’ reporting in terms of technical aspects (terminology and cross-references between different instruments).
