This is a 10-lesson curriculum that introduces high school students to the upstream or the root causes of health disparities, emphasizing the influence of social, economic, and political health. Through a mix of classroom learning and community-based experiential activities, students explore health topics such as obesity, diabetes, environmental hazards, and media influences. Students get to engage in hands-on advocacy projects, critically analyze media, debates, mapping exercises, and a final proposal to local government or school officials.
