Students will write three short essays or stories describing how scenes in photographs and other images related to human rights issues. This lesson plan is for primary grades 3-5 and has a time frame of 2-3 class periods. It is appropriate for language arts, creative writing, and social studies. It is like the musical chair game in that students write while music plays and pause to move to another desk with a different image when the music stops. Over the course of the lesson, students respond to multiple images as the music intermittently plays, stops, and starts again.
