This handbook, part of the Haki Zetu – ESC rights in Practice series, is intended for civil society organizations and activists working with local communities in Africa. It provides an introduction to the right to adequate housing, gives advice for organizations preparing to work on housing rights, and suggests activities to realize the right to housing in practice. In particular, the book seeks to assist non-governmental and community-based organizations in their efforts to empower communities to improve their housing conditions.
