This manual is intended for educators, teachers and parents working with children 6-13 years old. Compasito uses non-formal educational methodologies with an intercultural and participatory approach. Compasito seeks to develop in children the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes they need to participate in their society, including knowing and protecting their rights and the rights of others. The manual introduces a theoretical background of human rights education for children. It outlines concepts and human rights mechanisms from the European and international perspectives. It provides 42 practical learning activities under thirteen selected human rights themes. The appendices include the relevant European human rights documents in a child-friendly format. Each chapter can be downloaded as a separate document.
