This handbook highlights some of the best practices around the world in HIV/AIDS services, programs, and policies for people with disabilities. It is primarily aimed at organizations involved in programming and advocacy to influence or to develop policy and programs in HIV/AIDS service delivery for persons with disabilities. This includes both mainstream HIV/AIDS organizations, and those working primarily with/for people with disabilities. The categories of disabilities covered in the handbook are the deaf, visually impaired, physically challenged, and intellectually challenged. Each chapter outlines the best practices for each category of disability. For each of these categories, a case study outlines successful strategies in the delivery of services, formulation of policies, and programming and advocacy.
