From 29 September 2014-30 January 2015, HREA will be offering an online training program that will increase capacity of staff of the Regional Rights Resource Team (RRRT) of the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) and partners to undertake human rights-based analyses of legislation, policies and other frameworks for representatives of government, civil society and other stakeholders.
Objective – To enable RRRT staff to have the capacity to undertake human rights based analysis of legislation, policies and other frameworks, and to provide that analysis to States, NGOs and other stakeholders.
Content – Human Rights Based Approach as a tool and framework for policy, planning, implementation and training.
Format – The training package will be interactive and relevant that utilises case studies, quizzes, practical exercises and lecture / tutorial methods for learning. Examples will either be from the Pacific or have relevance to the Pacific context.
All RRRT training staff will be undertaking this course. HREA and RRRT/SPC are excited now to open up this course to non-RRRT staff members. The course fee is:
• USD 1000 for staff from regional agencies / UN agencies
• FJD 500 for staff from civil society organisations from the Pacific Islands (HREA is subsidizing this cost)
