This series of lessons show how easy it is to incorporate issues of Global Citizenship into literacy teaching and how these ideas can be used to develop literacy skills. The lessons were developed for children ages 8-10 to learn about children’s rights. Activities include designing a poster, debating the issues, and writing letters in support of children’s rights. The lessons also help children to develop skills to communicate their rights in writing, orally, in debate and through drawings.
